Because December's drumming workshop was such a success, we are offering a third session of the program on March 15, 2008. Once again, it will be held from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Evanston Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Boulevard, Evanston, IL. The workshop will emphasize drumming as a way to create, express, and share, a sense of community. It will also explore drumming as a means to personal expression, communication, and fun.
The program, limited to 30 participants, will be led by Larry Grubb LCSW, a social worker since 1978 who has worked in clinic, hospital, and school settings. Larry started drumming when he was 16 and played professionally for 20 years before transitioning to his current profession. There is no fee for this workshop, although we would appreciate a voluntary contribution at the door to help defray its cost. To register, please call

Here are some comments from those who attended the workshop in September:
"Larry takes the competition out of the experience as well as the expectations of getting it right. By opening ourselves to the beat, we can find our rhythm, learn about ourselves and others, and have a heck of a lot of fun."
"You don't need any experience as a drummer. You don't even need a drum! Larry provides the equipment - you just need to be there.'"
"Full of energy, warmth, and connection. It was a fantastic experience!"
