February 7, 2008 - New Assistant Leader Position
Increased Responsibility for BreakThrough Weekend

The Victories Board of Directors is pleased to announce the creation of a new Assistant Leader position for the BreakThrough Weekend and invites all men interested in applying for this position to submit an e-mail application by February 28, 2008 to our executive director, Rick Simon (rick.simon@victoriesoftheheart.net). Your application should contain a brief summary of your attendance at Victories weekends and trainings, your staffing and group leadership experience, any special expertise, and areas of particular interest to you.

The purpose of this position is not only to recognize men who are already making significant contributions to our  programs. It is also intended to provide greater opportunities for personal growth for men with the potential and interest to become future leaders of the BreakThrough Weekend and of our organization. Assistant Leaders will be responsible for: (1) facilitating and otherwise nurturing our personal growth groups, (2) co-facilitating the 90 and 180 day reunions with the senior leaders, (3) leading heartwork and other processes on weekends under the supervision of the senior leaders, and (4) assuming important responsibilities in connection with other trainings such as Group Leadership Training and Basic Staff Training. 

Creating a new position for men who have chosen to develop their leadership skills is the natural outgrowth of our Paths to Leadership program that began two years ago. Since the inception of Paths to Leadership, we have conducted trainings in psychodrama and group process and our senior leadership teams have offered qualified men numerous opportunities to co-facilitate heartwork on weekends. We hope that our new Assistant Leaders will provide the  much needed energy and manpower for expanding our programs in the years ahead.
